Which adapters work?
Shadetree works with common Bluetooth Low Energy OBD-II adapters. Plug the adapter into the OBD-II port under your dash, turn the ignition on, and open the app; it finds the adapter and reads your car automatically.
Which cars work?
Most gasoline cars and light trucks sold in the United States since 1996 speak the OBD-II standard that Shadetree reads. Coverage of enhanced, manufacturer-specific readings varies by vehicle and grows over time.
Where is my data?
On your iPhone. There's no Shadetree account and no tracking. Some things you choose to save, like service records, can sync through your own private iCloud. The privacy policy has the full picture.
